Crestwood delivered a complete performance Saturday night, using balanced scoring and steady defensive pressure to roll past Wyoming Valley West 73 30 at home. The Comets set the tone early and never let the visitors settle in, controlling the game from the opening quarter through the final horn.
Crestwood jumped out to a 19 6 lead after the first quarter, pushing the pace and capitalizing on scoring opportunities inside and at the foul line. The Comets continued to build separation in the second quarter, taking a 35 20 advantage into halftime after limiting Wyoming Valley West to single digit shooting stretches.
Any momentum Valley West hoped to generate coming out of the break was quickly shut down. Crestwood opened the third quarter with its strongest stretch of the night, pouring in 27 points while holding Valley West to just three. That surge effectively put the game out of reach as Crestwood extended its lead to 62 23 entering the fourth quarter.
Ayden Agapito led all scorers with 28 points, consistently attacking the basket and converting at the free throw line. Jack Rodgers added 14 points, providing a steady presence on both ends of the floor. Miles Metz chipped in nine points, while Gio Barna and Connor Wagaman each finished with six as Crestwood spread the scoring across its lineup.
Wyoming Valley West was paced by Rashawn Lee with nine points, including a pair of three pointers. Carson Carlo added six points, but the Spartans struggled to find consistent offense against Crestwood’s defensive pressure and depth.
Crestwood finished the night strong at the free throw line and limited Valley West’s second chance opportunities, turning defense into offense throughout the game.
