Crestwood wrapped up its round robin slate Wednesday night with a confident 48 to 36 victory over Dallas using a fast start and steady execution to control the game from start to finish.
The Comets wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to an 18 point first quarter behind aggressive play on both ends. Jordan Andrews led the early charge, attacking the basket and getting to the free throw line, while Keira Dougherty and Jackie Gallagher helped space the floor and keep pressure on the Dallas defense.
Dallas settled in during the second quarter, with Molly Walsh leading the Mountaineers offensively as they chipped away at the deficit. Crestwood countered by tightening up defensively and limiting second chance opportunities, heading into halftime with control of the tempo.
The third quarter turned into a defensive battle, with Crestwood staying patient and composed. Charlie Hiller provided key interior touches, while Gallagher continued to do the little things on both ends to prevent Dallas from building momentum.
In the fourth quarter, Crestwood closed the door at the foul line. Andrews finished with 14 points, including 8 made free throws, while Dougherty added 12 points and Gallagher chipped in 11. The Comets went 19 for 33 from the line overall, using those trips to maintain separation and secure the win.
Dallas was led by Walsh with 17 points, while Brianna Casey and Mia DelGaudio each added 6, but Crestwood’s defensive discipline in the final minutes limited clean looks and sealed the outcome.
The win marked a strong response for Crestwood, closing the round robin with momentum and showcasing balance, resilience, and growth as the season continues.
