Wilkes-Barre - JC Show and George Tinsley earn co-players of the game honors as Clutch delivers an impressive offensive performance on opening night.
Clutch ABA opened its season in emphatic fashion, delivering a 169-121 victory over the DC Crank on opening night of the ABA season. Fueled by unselfish basketball, efficient scoring, and a balanced offensive attack, Clutch made an early statement with a performance that showcased both its veteran talent and promising newcomers.
The team’s offensive chemistry was on full display throughout the contest, as Clutch recorded an impressive 44 assists while committing just 18 turnovers. The ability to share the basketball and consistently create quality scoring opportunities proved to be a defining factor in the decisive victory.
Leading the way was newcomer JC Show, who made his debut in a Clutch uniform and immediately made his presence felt. Show poured in 35 points and dished out 11 assists, connecting on seven of his 10 attempts from beyond the three-point line. His scoring ability, court vision, and efficiency provided a major spark and helped set the tone for Clutch’s offensive explosion.
George Tinsley also delivered a standout performance, earning co-player of the game honors alongside Show. Tinsley finished with 25 points and 14 rebounds, adding six assists to complete an outstanding all-around effort. His ability to contribute on the glass, facilitate the offense, and score at multiple levels made him one of the game’s most influential players.
Jamie Calloway added 27 points to the winning effort, providing another consistent scoring option for Clutch. Hasiin Dixon contributed 17 points and seven assists, further highlighting the team’s depth and willingness to move the ball. With multiple players capable of creating offense, Clutch proved difficult for DC Crank to contain.
Will Johnson also delivered an encouraging performance as he continues to build strength following last season’s injury. Johnson finished with 19 points, attacking the basket aggressively and showcasing his athleticism with acrobatic finishes and several and-one opportunities. His ability to get downhill and finish through contact offered another dimension to the Clutch offense and provided a positive sign as he continues his recovery.
The team’s rookies, fresh out of college, also made valuable contributions in their professional debuts. While opening-night nerves can often challenge newcomers, Clutch’s young players settled in and showed promise as they adjusted to the pace and physicality of the game.
Adam Dudzinski earned the starting nod and responded with a composed, high-IQ performance. He recorded seven points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocks, demonstrating his willingness to contribute in multiple areas without forcing the action.
Matt Prociak added 16 points and seven rebounds, giving Clutch another productive presence on both ends of the floor. Jake Koretz also made an impact, scoring 14 points while knocking down four three-pointers. Their performances provided an encouraging glimpse of the depth and potential within Clutch’s rookie class.
Ultimately, the 169-121 victory was a complete team effort, highlighted by efficient shooting, excellent ball movement, and contributions throughout the lineup. The 44 assists served as a testament to the team’s unselfish approach, while the scoring balance demonstrated how dangerous Clutch can be when multiple players find their rhythm.
For their exceptional performances, JC Show and George Tinsley were named co-players of the game. Show’s explosive debut and Tinsley’s all-around dominance provided the highlights of an impressive opening-night showing.
With the season now underway, Clutch ABA will look to build on the momentum from its convincing win. If opening night is any indication, the return of starter Rasheed Moore, the combination of established contributors, an explosive new addition, and an emerging group of rookies could make Clutch a formidable opponent as the ABA season progresses.
