Every time Hannah Chipego steps into the circle lately, history seems to follow. Friday night added another chapter, as the Lake-Lehman ace piled up strikeouts, added another dominant outing to her résumé, and reached a career milestone that only a handful ever touch.

With major matchups against Athens and Dallas looming next week, the Black Knights looked more than ready.

Lake-Lehman rode a huge sixth inning and another overpowering performance from Chipego to blank Berwick 7-0 on Friday night.

The James Madison commit was electric once again, firing a one-hitter while striking out 16 batters and surpassing 800 career strikeouts in the process. The Class of 2026 standout now sits among the nation’s elite, leading Pennsylvania in no-hitters this season and ranking second nationally with seven no-hitters on the year.

For five innings, the game stayed relatively tight, with Lake-Lehman holding a slim lead after manufacturing a run in the fourth inning off a Berwick error.

Then the sixth inning avalanche arrived.

The Black Knights exploded for six runs on five hits, turning a close game into another statement victory. G. James delivered an RBI single, J. Shorts added a two-run hit, Chipego ripped a two-run triple, and J. Sholtis capped the inning with another RBI knock.

Chipego also led the offense with two hits, helping her own cause in a complete all-around performance.

Defensively, Lake-Lehman stayed sharp behind its ace, playing error-free softball while K. Brudnicki handled a game-high number of chances behind the plate.

Berwick managed a  hit from Ashlyn Klahold, but the Bulldogs struggled to consistently solve Chipego’s mix and command throughout the night.

Now the attention turns to a massive upcoming stretch.

Athens. Dallas. Two heavyweight tests waiting next week.

And if Friday night was any indication, the Black Knights are heading into it with plenty of momentum.
