Lakeland opened the scoring in the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead
Trailing 6-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh, Lakeland staged a resilient comeback. Key hits from Kamri Naniewicz and Zoey Gregory, combined with a crucial Blue Ridge error, allowed the Chiefs to plate three runs and force the game into extra frames tied at six
The tension peaked in the ninth inning. In the top half, Blue Ridge reclaimed the lead as Hailey Carpenetti tripled to drive in a run, followed by a productive fly out from Kaylee Blewett to push the score to 8-6
