Carbondale Little League Storms Back to Defeat North Scranton in District 32 Minors Pool Play

DICKSON CITY, PA — Carbondale Little League erased an early four-run deficit Wednesday night, using a late offensive explosion to defeat North Scranton Little League 14-7 in a District 32 Minors Baseball pool play matchup at Dickson City Little League.

North Scranton came out swinging in the opening inning. Greysen Heise delivered a two-run single before Zach Mackaliunas ripped an RBI triple. Finn Flesher followed with an RBI single to cap a four-run first inning and give NSLL an early advantage.

Carbondale steadily battled back before drawing even in the bottom of the fourth. A North Scranton error and a bases-loaded walk by Brayden Bruno tied the game at 6-6, setting the stage for a decisive fifth inning.

Carbondale broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth, scoring eight runs on two hits. Garrett Cassidy delivered the biggest hit of the inning with a two-run single as Carbondale surged in front for good.

Greysen Heise led North Scranton offensively, going 2-for-2 at the plate, while the lineup also showed patience by drawing seven walks.

Kellan McDermott started on the mound for North Scranton, striking out seven over 3⅔ innings while allowing seven hits and six runs, with just one of those runs earned.

Carbondale’s offense was led by Garrett Cassidy, Noah Brennan, and Conner Ledwith, who each collected two hits. Garrett Cassidy and Deagan Becchetti each drove in two runs, while Jordan Ashby and Brayden Bruno drew two walks apiece as Carbondale finished with nine free passes.

North Scranton Little League Minors All-Star Roster: Joseph Flesher, Finn Flesher, Max Fiscus, Greysen Heise, Zach Mackaliunas, Kellan McDermott, Luca Musyt, Sebastian Owens, Jackson Powell, Greysen Rich, Landon Rodriguez, and Aniela Scone.

Carbondale Little League Minors All-Star Roster: Jordan Ashby, Deagan Becchetti, Noah Brennan, Brayden Bruno, Garrett Cassidy, Grayson Faatz, Conner Ledwith, Killian McGraw, Matthew Perdomo Sosa, Keith Shaffer, Jack Shaver, and Colin Walker.
