Buckhorns Dominate Honesdale with Offensive Barrage and Lynch's Gem

A baseball clinic was held today as the Wallenpaupack Area Varsity Buckhorns delivered a commanding 11-0 victory over Honesdale, showcasing a potent offense and a masterful pitching performance that left no doubt about their superiority. From the very first inning, the Buckhorns set the tone, relentlessly piling on runs while their ace silenced Honesdale's bats.

Wallenpaupack’s offense was a force to be reckoned with, lighting up the scoreboard across multiple innings. Logan Caruso was a standout at the plate, collecting three hits and scoring three runs, including a double in the first inning to kickstart the scoring, followed by another double in the sixth that kept the pressure on. Cade Pittenger matched the doubles output with two of his own, scoring twice and driving in two runs. Thomas Kiersted had an exceptional day, leading all batters with four hits, contributing a crucial single in the first, a double in the second, and two more singles later in the game, bringing in two runs. JJ Blaum reached base twice via walks and added a single, while Ben Anderson and Mason Miller also chipped in with key singles and RBIs. The Buckhorns' ability to string together hits and capitalize on walks proved too much for Honesdale's pitching staff.

On the mound, Wallenpaupack’s Cameron Lynch delivered a stellar performance, earning the win with a complete game shutout. Cameron Lynch pitched six innings, surrendering only three hits, walking five, and striking out six Honesdale batters. His control and ability to keep Honesdale off balance were pivotal in securing the lopsided victory, leaving no room for Honesdale to mount any challenge.

Honesdale struggled to find any rhythm offensively, managing only three hits throughout the entire contest. Jake Fine singled in the first inning, Levi Martin added a single in the fifth, and Gino Patrisso picked up Honesdale's final hit with a line drive single in the sixth. Despite efforts from pitchers Jake Fine, Brody Patrisso, Connor Tirney, and Levi Martin, they collectively yielded 11 runs on 14 hits and seven walks, highlighting the Buckhorns' relentless attack.

The game concluded with Wallenpaupack firmly in control, securing a decisive win through a combination of powerful hitting and dominant pitching, leaving Honesdale searching for answers.
