The Lady Bucks used a relentless offensive attack and timely extra-base hits to outlast Old Forge in a 13-8 battle between two ranked squads.
Dunmore wasted little time grabbing momentum in the second inning. Aubrey Mizenko launched a two-run homer to right to ignite a four-run frame, while Paige Ancherani and Ava Walsh each followed with RBI singles to quickly put the Lady Bucks in control.
But Old Forge never let the game get comfortable.
The Lady Blue Devils kept responding with quality at-bats and pressure throughout the lineup, collecting 10 hits and staying within striking distance deep into the game.
Still, every time Old Forge threatened, Dunmore seemed to answer.
The Lady Bucks piled up 17 hits overall, with Mizenko leading the charge in a huge night at the plate. The standout slugger finished 3-for-6 with four RBIs and a home run, helping power one of Dunmore’s strongest offensive performances of the season.
Ava Walsh was nearly impossible to retire, going a perfect 4-for-4 while adding an RBI, two runs scored, a walk, and a stolen base. Rachel Walsh also helped her own cause with two hits and three RBIs while tossing a complete game in the circle.
Paige Ancherani added three hits, and Emily McGowan created havoc on the bases with three runs scored and two steals as Dunmore swiped five bags total.
Old Forge matched the intensity offensively behind multi-hit performances from Lilianna Lenceski, Ava Arnold, Joselyn DeStefano, and Kate O’Hearn. Lenceski and Arnold each drove in two runs to keep the Lady Blue Devils battling throughout the night.
In the end, Dunmore simply had one more answer every time the pressure rose.
Two ranked teams. Twenty-seven total hits. And a game that felt more like a heavyweight prize fight than a regular-season matchup.
