DALLAS — Mid Valley’s Jacob Borrelli and Wellsboro’s Lauren Kosek delivered championship performances Saturday at the 51st Annual Cliff Robbins Sr. Memorial Invitational at Misericordia University.

The traditional early-season cross-country event brought together runners from across Northeastern Pennsylvania for a pair of varsity 5K races at Letterkenny Fields. The meet is designed as an individual test of racing fitness and does not award team championships.

Borrelli, a junior, emerged from a competitive boys’ field of 218 finishers to claim the individual championship in 16:48.8. He was the only runner to break 16:50 and finished 9.7 seconds ahead of Lakeland senior Henry Decker, who secured second place in 16:58.5.

Lake-Lehman senior Bodhi Cronin placed third in 17:15.0, narrowly edging Northeast Bradford junior Jackson Martin, who crossed just three-tenths of a second later in 17:15.3.

Susquehanna Community’s Evan Beamer finished fifth in 17:24.1, while Crestwood’s Rowan Dietrich followed in sixth at 17:25.1.

Holy Redeemer sophomore Caden Moreck placed seventh in 17:31.8. Mid Valley senior Chris Von Ahnen gave the Spartans a second runner inside the top eight with a time of 17:44.4.

Lackawanna Trail’s Chase Litwin finished ninth in 17:48.1, and Dallas junior Chase Comiskey completed the boys’ top 10 in 17:51.6.
