Blue Knights Start Fast: Wyoming Seminary Rolls Past Loudoun, 38-14, in Season Opener

KINGSTON, Pa. — Wyoming Seminary opened the 2026 season with a 38-14 victory over Loudoun Sports Academy Blue on Friday night at Nesbitt Stadium, getting standout performances from quarterback Nelson Martinez, running back John Smith and a defense that produced two interceptions and four sacks.
Martinez, a member of the Class of 2027, completed 12 of 15 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Smith, also a 2027 prospect, accounted for 165 yards from scrimmage and three total touchdowns as the Blue Knights battled through humid conditions and cramping throughout the 48-minute game.
Smith carried 14 times for 89 yards and two touchdowns while adding two receptions for 76 yards and another score. His biggest play came on third-and-15, when Martinez found him for a 75-yard touchdown.
Martinez also connected with 2027 wide receiver Hudson Cvetkovic for a 5-yard touchdown on a naked bootleg. His third touchdown pass came after extending a play outside the pocket and finding 2027 tight end Jonah Oquendo for a 6-yard score. Oquendo finished with five receptions for 26 yards.
Seminary finished with 315 yards of offense, including 197 through the air and 118 on the ground. Class of 2027 running back Zack Sebestyen caught three passes for 69 yards and finished with 108 all-purpose yards.
The Blue Knights also received contributions from 2028 wide receiver/defensive back Martin Kasungu, 2027 wide receiver/defensive back Demetrius Owens, 2029 running back/defensive back Nate Walsh of Mountain Top and 2028 linebacker Enzo Delvil.
Seminary’s offensive line helped drive the production, led by 2027 Akron commit Jayden Remplet, Kevin Oswalt (2028) and Taylen Telesford-Pines (2027). The group helped establish the running game while giving Martinez time to work through the air.
Defensively, the Blue Knights delivered several momentum-changing plays. Class of 2027 defensive back and Cornell commit Dylan Liner returned an interception for a touchdown, while 2028 linebacker Alex Laflamme added another interception.
Seminary also recorded four sacks. Josh Snell (2028) had two, while Habed Richard (2027) and Samuel Achoguo (2027) each added one. Laflamme and Richard led the listed defensive statistics with five tackles apiece, while Snell recorded two tackles for loss.
Loudoun found the end zone on an interception return and later added a long passing touchdown, but Seminary otherwise limited sustained drives by generating pressure and forcing turnovers.
The Blue Knights head into their bye week at 1-0 before returning home Friday, Sept. 18, to host The Peddie School at Nesbitt Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
