This one felt different from the start.
Set inside Mirabito Stadium in Binghamton, home of the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies, Montrose and Lackawanna Trail took the field for one of those games players remember.
And by the end of the night, it meant even more.
Montrose rolled to an 8-1 win, but the story carried beyond the final score.
With the win, Head Coach Josh Winn reached 100 career victories.
But his perspective said everything.
“In my book I have zero wins. This is the team, their wins.”
A milestone handled the right way.
Montrose wasted no time settling in on the big stage.
A first-inning single from Kasey Carey got them on the board, and they kept the pressure coming in the second, adding two more runs to take early control.
From there, the Meteors never let go.
Consistent at-bats. Smart baserunning. Constant pressure.
By the middle innings, the gap was clear.

3-for-5
Double + 2 singles
Set the tone all night. A complete performance at the plate and on the mound.
Alexander Arndt closed it out in relief with two scoreless innings to seal it.
Montrose’s offense was relentless:
Pressure everywhere.
On the bases, they ran wild, forcing mistakes and dictating the pace.
Trail showed discipline at the plate:
Seven total walks, but couldn’t string together the hits needed to break through.
Game Notes
Montrose didn’t just handle the moment, they owned it. On a bigger field, under bigger lights, they played clean, confident baseball.
And in doing so, they gave their head coach a milestone he’ll never forget.
Big stadium. Big moment.
And a quote that says everything.
100 wins…and still about the team.
That’s how you build something that lasts.
