After the Wyoming Valley Conference was not part of the Lackawanna Conference baseball and softball media day at PNC Field, coaches and teams from the WVC decided to host their own media day at Dallas High School. The media day was a huge success, with over 15 schools and 20 teams represented by their coaches, upperclassmen, and captains.
Each team had several opportunities to interact with the media, including getting their photos taken, participating in rapid-fire interview questions for social media, and conducting live on-air radio interviews with Nate Johns, Tony Sibilla and Paul Bonomo.
Teams also had the opportunity to speak with Steve Bennett from the Wilkes-Barre Citizens’ Voice and John Erzar from the Times Leader about their goals and expectations for the upcoming season.
To open the media day, teams heard from two guest speakers. The first speaker was the owner of Fame Strength, Josh Mason. Mason educated the athletes on the mental side of sports, as well as the true meaning of leadership and bouncing back from adversity.
The second speaker was Mike Amory, the owner of Cryotherapy Restore and Rejuvenate. Amory discussed the recovery side of sports, provided background on what cryotherapy is, and concluded by offering the coaches and captains of every team a free recovery session at Cryotherapy Restore and Rejuvenate.
The teams and SportzWire would like to thank the speakers and the Dallas School District administration for helping make the 2026 WVC Baseball and Softball Media Day memorable. A special thank you also goes to Peoples Security Bank & Trust for supporting SportzWire as the Media Day sponsor. Good luck to each and every team competing this season.
