Dallas High School put together one of its most complete performances of the season Friday night, pulling away from Hazleton Area for a convincing 75–55 victory built on depth, rhythm, and collective execution. After a tightly contested opening quarter, Dallas seized control and never looked back, winning each of the final three periods to turn a competitive matchup into a decisive result.
The Mountaineers’ offensive balance was on full display. Pat Flanagan led all scorers with 23 points, consistently punishing defensive breakdowns and making timely plays throughout the night. Joey Nocito added 16 points with strong downhill play, while Tyce Mason (13 points) and Kael Berry (12 points) continued to provide steady production. Chris Flanagan chipped in eight points, and Dallas’ ability to spread the scoring load kept Hazleton from keying in on any single option. Dallas finished with 10 three-point field goals and controlled the free-throw line, a reflection of both poise and execution.
On the defensive end, Dallas tightened the screws after the first quarter, limiting Hazleton Area to just 36 points over the final three periods. Yohansal Moran paced Hazleton with 19 points, and Dylan Stish added 14, but Dallas’ disciplined rotations, consistent pressure, and team defense prevented sustained runs. Each Hazleton push was met with an answer, underscoring the Mountaineers’ composure and cohesion.
Dallas now shifts its focus to a familiar challenge. The Mountaineers will host Wilkes-Barre Area on Tuesday night at Dallas High School, with tip-off set for 7:15 p.m. Wilkes-Barre Area brings a talented group of guards and has long been a competitive rival, setting the stage for another high-energy matchup as Dallas looks to carry its balanced attack and momentum into the next test.
