August Nealon’s Three-Hit Night Lifts North Pocono Past Abington in District 17 Pool Play

SPRINGBROOK TWP., PA — North Pocono Dandy Lion opened District 17 11-Year-Old All-Star pool play with an offensive outburst Thursday evening, defeating Abington Little League 11-8 at Aston Field.
August Nealon paced the North Pocono offense with a perfect 3-for-3 performance, recording two singles and a fifth-inning double while driving in a run.
North Pocono struck first in the opening inning when Nealon singled home the game’s first run before breaking the contest open with a six-run third inning.
Joseph Tomcykoski highlighted the rally with a two-run double, Anthony Clark followed with an RBI double, Dominic Trubiano brought home a run with a groundout, and Bradley Dwyer capped the inning with a two-run double to give North Pocono firm control.
Tomcykoski also starred on the mound, striking out eight over 3⅓ innings while allowing just three hits and three unearned runs. Everett Lenzer, Bradley Dwyer, and Anthony Clark combined in relief to help secure the victory.
North Pocono finished with 12 hits as Nealon led the way with three. Tomcykoski and Dwyer each added two hits, while Dominic Trubiano drove in a team-high three runs.
Abington continued to battle throughout the contest. Gus Moraski drove in two runs, while Jake McCormack collected two hits. Giovanni Tunis reached base multiple times, drew two walks, stole two bases, and helped spark the offense as Abington drew seven walks as a team.
Julian Armezzani started on the mound for Abington, allowing seven runs over 2⅔ innings while striking out three.
