CARBONDALE — Four touchdowns. Another monster performance. And a championship within reach.

Carbondale Area’s Caedon Voglino delivered when the Chargers needed him Friday night, rushing for 173 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries in a 40-21 victory over Lackawanna Trail.

The win secured Carbondale Area a share of the Lackawanna Football Conference Division III championship, the program’s first division crown since 2005.

But the Chargers aren’t finished.

At 6-3 overall and 4-0 in Division III, Carbondale Area enters its regular-season finale against Old Forge with an opportunity to claim its first outright division championship since 1973.

And Voglino has been a major contributor to that pursuit.

His latest performance earns him this week’s Sportzwire Athlete of the Week, powered by HYDRABATHS® Swing Salt - where performance meets recovery.

A Stat Sheet That Speaks for Itself

Voglino’s production has been impressive throughout the season, and the numbers inside the Sportzwire District 2 Player Data Hub tell the story.

With over 950 rushing yards, he’s well on his way to that coveted 1,000-yard milestone.

He ranks among District 2’s top five in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, with 14 scores on the ground, while also sitting inside the top 10 in yards per carry.

But his impact doesn’t stop in the backfield.

Voglino leads District 2 with five special teams return touchdowns, adding another dimension to an already dangerous offensive weapon.

Whether carrying the football or finding space in the return game, Voglino has consistently provided the Chargers with explosive plays.

A Championship Worth Chasing

Individual milestones are within reach, but the opportunity ahead carries even greater significance.

Carbondale Area has already accomplished something the program hasn’t celebrated in more than two decades.

Now, the Chargers have a chance to do something that hasn’t been done since 1973.

A victory over Old Forge on Friday would give Carbondale Area the outright Division III championship, adding another chapter to a season that has brought renewed excitement to the program.

For Voglino and his teammates, the stakes couldn’t be clearer.

The rushing yards, touchdowns and district rankings reflect an outstanding individual season.

But the biggest prize is still on the field.

Congratulations to Caedon Voglino of Carbondale Area, this week’s Sportzwire Athlete of the Week, powered by HYDRABATHS® Swing Salt.
