AOTW: 225 Yards, Four Touchdowns and a Pick - Thomas Pollock Does It All for Shikellamy

For Shikellamy senior Thomas Pollock, Friday night was one of those games where seemingly everything ran through No. 1.

Pollock hauled in 12 receptions for 225 yards and four touchdowns, added 42 yards on two carries and grabbed an interception on defense as Shikellamy pulled away from Jersey Shore for a 56-27 victory.

That’s 267 yards from scrimmage, four touchdowns and a takeaway…a performance that earns Pollock this week’s Sportzwire Athlete of the Week, powered by HYDRABATHS® Swing Salt where performance meets recovery.

Big Plays, Over and Over

Pollock’s four touchdown receptions from quarterback Bobby Felmy covered 24, 65, 12 and 68 yards.

His first two came during a back-and-forth opening quarter before his third pushed Shikellamy’s advantage to 32-27 in the third.

Then came the dagger.

With Jersey Shore still within five, Felmy found Pollock for a 68-yard touchdown to open the fourth quarter. It sparked a 24-point final period and helped the Braves close the game with 30 unanswered points.

Two interception returns for touchdowns followed before Ryan DePhillips added a 34-yard field goal to finish off the 56-27 win.

Felmy to Pollock

Pollock’s monster night came alongside an impressive performance from Felmy, who completed 18 of 28 passes for 291 yards and five touchdowns without an interception.

Four of those five scores went to Pollock.

Sportzwire District 4 reporter Ben Snyder caught up with both players after the win, and Felmy immediately credited the guys around him.

“You gotta give it all to the line,” Felmy said. “That’s the only reason I could throw the ball is ’cause the line gave me time, and then Thomas being open, and Maddox.”

Pollock did the same when asked about his ability to create with the football in his hands.

“I believe in my coaches to put me in the best position to make those moves,” Pollock said.

His impact extended to defense, where he added an interception as part of a four-takeaway night through the air for Shikellamy.

Again, Pollock pointed elsewhere.

“You just gotta give all the credit to the coaches,” he said. “They put us in the positions to make those plays, honestly.”

More Than the Numbers

The victory moved Shikellamy to 4-1, but perhaps Pollock’s best answer of the night had nothing to do with his 225 yards, four touchdowns or interception.

Asked what it means to spend his senior season playing alongside this group of Braves, Pollock didn’t hesitate.

“It means the world to me, honestly,” he said. “I love each and every one of ’em with everything in me, and I would do anything for them.”

Felmy described the bond even more simply:

“We’re one family.”

On a night when Pollock’s individual numbers demanded attention, his words kept bringing the conversation back to the people around him.

12 catches. 225 receiving yards. Four touchdowns. 42 rushing yards. One interception.

A huge performance, a 56-27 victory and a night worthy of being Wired.

Congratulations to Shikellamy senior Thomas Pollock, this week’s Sportzwire Athlete of the Week, powered by HYDRABATHS® Swing Salt, where performance meets recovery.
