On Monday, the Comets delivered a powerful performance, overcoming the Dallas Mountaineers with a decisive 16-2 victory. The offensive fireworks were ignited by Addison Ciocco, whose exceptional day at the plate propelled her team to a commanding win, driving in four runs on three hits.

Crestwood started hot, leaping to an early lead in the first inning. Ella Mikhalkov set the tone with a single that scored two runs, quickly followed by Brielle Dohman singling in another. Paiton Therriault drew a walk for a run, and then Addison Ciocco doubled, bringing home two more. The Comets continued their offensive onslaught in the second inning, plating eight runs on five hits. Brielle Dohman added another RBI with a single, Morgan Weiss singled to score one, and Paiton Therriault walked in a run. Addison Ciocco kept her momentum, singling for two more RBIs, and Raegan Gagliardi capped the inning with a single that drove in three crucial runs.

Fallon Stavish was in control on the mound for Crestwood, earning the win. She allowed just four hits and two runs, only one of which was earned, over four innings. Stavish demonstrated her pitching prowess by striking out six Dallas batters while walking two. For Dallas, Rita Zangardi took the loss, laboring through two and one third innings, surrendering 14 runs (10 earned) on nine hits, striking out two and walking seven.

The Crestwood offense was relentless, accumulating 12 hits throughout the contest. Brielle Dohman and Ella Mikhalkov were standout performers, each collecting multiple hits for the Comets. Beyond their hitting, Crestwood showcased a disciplined approach at the plate, amassing nine walks in the game. Paiton Therriault, Alex Fromm, Raegan Gagliardi, and Audrey McShea each demonstrated excellent plate discipline, drawing two walks apiece. The Comets also displayed sharp defense, turning two double plays to stifle the Dallas offense. Despite the lopsided score, Camryn Wilson of Dallas showed resilience at the plate, going 2-for-2 with one run batted in.

The Crestwood Junior High Comets will look to continue their winning ways when they play at home on Wednesday against the Wilkes Barre JH Wolfpack.
