20K Strong in Two Years: How SportzWire Became NEPA’s New-Age Sports Media Powerhouse

Two years ago, SportzWire was simply an idea.

A vision built around energy, creativity, opportunity, and a belief that local athletes deserved more.

More coverage.
More exposure.
More storytelling.
More opportunity.

What began with co-owners Justin Bradley, Brad Loff, Carrie Miner Yaple, and Matt Flanagan sharing a passion for sports media and community storytelling has evolved into one of the most recognizable regional sports media platforms in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Fast forward to today…20,000 followers later and SportzWire has grown into far more than a social media page.

It’s become a platform.

A movement.

A home for creators and athletes across the region.

And the wild part?

Almost everyone involved is doing this because they genuinely love it.

Behind every article, graphic, highlight reel, podcast, broadcast, ranking, and viral post is a team made up of passionate creators, reporters, photographers, broadcasters, designers, and media personalities balancing day jobs, college schedules, family life, and everyday responsibilities.

This isn’t a corporate newsroom with unlimited resources.

It’s a family.

A family fueled by passion for the athletes, schools, and communities that make local sports special.

Over the last two years, SportzWire has evolved into a multi-purpose media platform delivering regional sports coverage across every angle imaginable…breaking news, rankings, feature stories, photography, live broadcasts, podcasts, recruiting exposure, social content, game highlights, championship coverage, and behind-the-scenes storytelling that connects directly with the next generation of sports fans.

From packed gyms in the winter…
To muddy football sidelines in the fall…To golden-hour track meets and walk-off softball moments in the spring…

SportzWire has been boots-on-the-ground capturing it all.

And the response from the community has been overwhelming.

The support from local businesses and sponsors has allowed the platform to continue expanding coverage deeper into postseason runs, district championships, state tournaments, and marquee events across Pennsylvania. Those partnerships have helped offset travel costs, media fees, equipment investments, and access opportunities that many traditional outlets have had for decades.

Because unlike many legacy media companies, SportzWire was built differently.

Our model doesn’t revolve around a handful of employees.

It revolves around opportunity.

Today, more than 70 creators across the region contribute to the platform in some form with each bringing their own style, perspective, hometown pride, and creativity to the communities they cover.

Some are experienced photographers.

Some are aspiring broadcasters.

Some are students learning sports journalism for the very first time.

Others simply love sports and want to contribute.

That’s what makes this platform different.

We don’t gate-keep creativity or the history books. We don’t shut doors. We open them.

Whether it’s helping a student photographer learn camera settings under stadium lights, teaching a young broadcaster how to call a game from court-side, or giving creators the opportunity to cover district championships at professional venues and state finals in Hershey… SportzWire has become a launchpad for the next generation.

We’ve had creators go from shooting local youth games to standing on sidelines covering Division I college athletics, celebrity charity events, and major championship moments.

Not because someone handed them an opportunity. Because they earned it. And because someone finally gave them a chance.

That mission matters now more than ever.

While SportzWire’s growth and viewership continue to reach levels unmatched locally, the journey hasn’t come without resistance. As a rapidly growing digital-first platform, there have been challenges navigating spaces traditionally dominated by older media structures and legacy outlets.

Despite carrying insurance, maintaining proper background clearances, Pennsylvania Sports Writers accreditation, and operating with professionalism, there are still moments where the platform’s size, visibility, and creator-driven model are met with hesitation instead of support.

But none of that has slowed the momentum. If anything, it has motivated the team even more.

Because at the core of everything SportzWire does is one simple belief:

The athletes deserve coverage. The schools deserve visibility. And passionate creators deserve an opportunity to grow.

This platform was never about fitting into old molds.

It was about building something new.

Something faster.
Something creative.
Something connected to the community in real time.

And after two years, one thing has become crystal clear:

This is only the beginning.

SportzWire is actively looking for passionate individuals across NEPA who want to get involved…photographers, writers, broadcasters, social media creators, designers, podcasters, videographers, commentators, and students searching for experience in sports media.

If you love sports and want an opportunity to create, learn, grow, and showcase your talents on a big stage, there’s a place for you here.
