For most high schoolers, transferring to a new school is no small task—adjusting to new classmates, teachers, routines, and academic expectations is challenging enough. But for student-athletes, that transition is even more complex. From learning playbooks and team dynamics to adapting to new coaching styles and practice schedules, the pressure to fit in and perform can be overwhelming.
Rising junior Weston Yannone is taking all of that in stride—and making it look easy.
This spring, the Yannone family relocated to Dunmore, Pennsylvania, for business reasons. For Weston, the move means joining a community with one of the most storied football traditions in the region. And he’s aiming to add his name to that legacy.
Yannone was a standout at Susquehanna Community High School in 2024, where he starred as both quarterback and defensive back. As a sophomore, he put up impressive numbers—rushing for over 1,200 yards with 15 touchdowns and adding nearly 600 passing yards with eight scores through the air. His dynamic ability as a dual-threat QB quickly set him apart.
That potential was on full display again recently at a quarterback camp in Buffalo, New York. Competing among some of the top talent in the Northeast, Yannone turned heads with his field vision, athleticism, playmaking instincts, and poise under pressure. His ability to read defenses, make plays with both his legs and his arm, and maintain composure in high-level reps earned him notable praise.
Six Star Football Scouting Reports took notice, recognizing Yannone as one of the most complete quarterbacks on the East Coast in the Class of 2027.
As the summer continues and preseason begins to take shape, all eyes will be on Yannone as he begins the next chapter of his football journey—this time in Dunmore red and blue.
