The 2024-2025 Wyoming Valley Conference (WVC) Division 1 basketball season has concluded, and the coaches have made their selections for the All-Star teams, recognizing the most outstanding players in the league. This year's honors feature impressive performances, with standout players from Hazleton, Pittston, Crestwood, Dallas, Wyoming Valley West, Berwick, and Wilkes-Barre Area making their mark.

Co-MVPs: Alexis Reimold and Kaitlyn Bindas from Hazleton

The 2024-2025 WVC Girl's Division 1 Co-Most Valuable Players (MVPs) both hail from Hazleton Area High School, showcasing the team’s dominance throughout the season. Junior Alexis Reimold and Sophomore Kaitlyn Bindas earned the coveted MVP honors after stellar performances that left a lasting impression on the league.

  • Alexis Reimold (Hazleton): A key figure for Hazleton, Reimold scored a remarkable 285 total points during the season. Her sharpshooting ability was highlighted by 23 three-pointers, and she demonstrated consistency from the free-throw line, converting 78.6% of her attempts. Reimold’s all-around play was a major factor in her team’s success, earning her the Co-MVP title.

  • Kaitlyn Bindas (Hazleton): Bindas, a sophomore phenom, finished the season with 447 total points, 55 three-pointers. With a 66.7% free-throw percentage, she was a consistent scoring threat. Player of the Year: Daniella Ranieli from Pittston

Pittston Area’s Daniella Ranieli was named the 2024-2025 WVC Division 1 Player of the Year. Ranieli’s consistency and scoring ability made her the clear choice for this prestigious award.

Coach of the Year: Joe Gavio from Hazleton

The Coach of the Year award went to Joe Gavio of Hazleton. Under his leadership, Hazleton had a dominant regular season, with multiple players earning All-Star honors and an overall strong team performance. First Team Selections

Second Team Selections

  • Thalia Irizarry (Wyoming Valley West, Junior): Irizarry had a strong season, contributing 303 points along with 29 three-pointers and a 79.6% free-throw shooting percentage.

  • Diamond Thornton (WBA, Senior): Thornton’s leadership was crucial for WBA, finishing the season with 189 points. Her presence on the court was always felt by opponents.

  • Mia DelGaudio (Dallas, Junior): DelGaudio added 230 points and 21 three-pointers to Dallas’ offensive arsenal, contributing heavily to the team’s success.

  • Abby Calarco (Berwick, Freshman): Another talented freshman, Calarco made her mark with 285 points and 53 three-pointers. Her outside shooting was a major asset for Berwick.

  • Kendall Petrosky (Crestwood, Senior): Petrosky finished with 208 points and 33 three-pointers, providing leadership and consistency for Crestwood.
