In a dramatic high school basketball showdown, the Wyoming Area Warriors outlasted Wyoming Seminary in a double-overtime classic, securing a hard-fought 75-65 victory. The intense battle saw both teams trading momentum swings before the Warriors pulled away in the second overtime period, fueled by clutch performances from multiple players.

First Half Recap: Wyoming Area Jumps Ahead Early

Wyoming Area set the tone early, jumping out to a commanding 17-9 lead in the first quarter behind strong inside scoring and aggressive defense. Luke Kopetchny was instrumental in the early surge, scoring consistently in the paint and creating opportunities for his teammates.

Wyoming Seminary responded in the second quarter, matching Wyoming Area’s intensity with a 15-point frame led by sharpshooter Antek Evan, who knocked down multiple three-pointers to keep his team within striking distance. At halftime, Wyoming Area maintained a narrow edge, leading 32-24.

Second Half: Seminary’s Grit Forces Overtime

Coming out of the break, Wyoming Seminary tightened its defense, limiting the Warriors to just 11 points in the third quarter. Evan continued his offensive showcase, scoring from beyond the arc while Brian Leahy added valuable mid-range jumpers to close the gap.

Trailing by just four points entering the fourth quarter, Seminary found another gear. Antek Evan and Jayden Arterberry led the charge as the Blue Knights outscored Wyoming Area 17-10 in the final frame of regulation. With seconds left, Evan drained a deep three-pointer, tying the game and forcing the first overtime at 53-53.
