Rivalry games always carry weight, but when it’s a rematch of last year’s district championship, the intensity only grows. On Monday night, Wyoming Area and Lake-Lehman squared off once again, and the Warriors came away with a 2–0 victory.
Both programs entered this season after graduating key players, yet the strength of their depth and balance was on display. The matchup featured two well-rounded teams who know each other well, trading pressure and testing one another’s defenses throughout the contest.
In the end, it was Lucia Campenni who made the difference. The Wyoming Area standout scored both goals, giving the Warriors the separation they needed while their defense delivered a shutout performance against the Black Knights.
The win not only secures bragging rights in one of the WVC’s most competitive rivalries, but it also serves as a reminder that both Wyoming Area and Lake-Lehman remain programs built for success. This chapter belonged to the Warriors, but with the history between these two, another high-stakes meeting could be waiting down the road.
