Wilkes-Barre, entering the contest as the #4 seed, was hoping for a win to keep its playoff hopes alive. However, Mont Alto proved to be too much for Wilkes-Barre, securing a 74-52 victory that ultimately knocked Wilkes-Barre out of the PSUAC playoffs,
Despite a valiant effort, Wilkes-Barre struggled offensively throughout the game, unable to find consistent scoring. Mont Alto's defense was stifling, and Wilkes-Barre couldn't keep pace with their high-scoring attack. However, two players from Wilkes-Barre stepped up with impressive performances. #3 Christopher Killings led the team with 19 points, showcasing his scoring ability despite the tough circumstances. #20 Anton Berga also contributed significantly with a 12-point effort, providing some offense for the team during crucial moments.
The loss ended Wilkes-Barre's chances of advancing in the PSUAC playoffs, but there is still a silver lining. Wilkes-Barre's overall body of work throughout the season earned them a spot in the USCAA National Tournament, where they will now shift their focus.
