Wilkes-Barre — Wilkes-Barre Area sophomore Addison Corchado made history on Monday night. In the Wolfpack’s 6-0 win over Wyoming Valley West, Corchado scored three times, a performance that lifted her season total to 28 goals and secured her place as the program’s new single-season scoring record holder.

The announcement was made during the game, confirming Corchado’s mark as the new standard for Wilkes-Barre Area girls soccer.

Corchado entered the night with 25 goals, already among the leaders in the Wyoming Valley Conference and across Pennsylvania, according to MaxPreps. Her hat trick against Valley West punctuated a run of standout performances that has fueled the Wolfpack’s strong season.

Highlights this fall include a three-goal outing in a 5-1 win over Berwick on Sept. 22 and two decisive goals in a 2-1 victory at Dallas on Sept. 24.

Now with 28 goals as a sophomore and October soccer still ahead, Corchado not only owns the record but has the chance to push it even further in the coming weeks.
