Whitehall Extends Winning Streak to Eight with Victory Over Pocono Mountain East

Whitehall High School continued its dominant stretch in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference (EPC) on Friday night, defeating Pocono Mountain East 65-51 to secure its eighth consecutive victory. The Zephyrs, now 10-2 overall and 6-1 in the EPC, relied on balanced scoring and sharp perimeter shooting to hand the Cardinals just their second loss of the season.


AJ Hines and Tanner Dogmanits led Whitehall with 14 points apiece. Dogmanits showcased his accuracy from long range, knocking down three of the Zephyrs' six three-pointers. Seth Hoderewski added 11 points to round out the double-digit scorers for Whitehall, which has hit its stride as the season progresses.


For Pocono Mountain East, Rayshawn Harris paced the offense with a game-high 17 points, while Stephon Bethea added 16. The Cardinals, now 10-2 overall and 5-2 in the EPC, struggled to match Whitehall's efficiency on both ends of the court, particularly in the decisive second half.

Whitehall started strong, using a combination of defensive intensity and efficient offense to take in a lead at the half.


Second Half:

The third quarter proved decisive for the Zephyrs, as Dogmanits connected on key three-pointers to spark the scoring for the Zephyrs. Whitehall's defense also stepped up, locking down the Cardinals who struggled to get a rhythm. 


In the final quarter, Whitehall maintained its composure, capitalizing on free-throw opportunities and executing in the half court to seal the victory.
