From National Champion to High School Trailblazer: Jay "Milly" Millan to Lead Parkland's First Girls' Flag Football Team!

Jay Millan, the driving force behind WeDifferent, has been appointed to lead Parkland Area School District's inaugural girls' flag football team. This initiative follows the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association's (PIAA) recent sanctioning of girls' flag football as an official high school sport, set to commence in the 2025-26 school year.

WeDifferent, founded in Allentown, Pennsylvania, began as a small yet confident group of athletes. Under Millan's leadership, it has grown into one of the nation's premier flag football programs. The organization’s teams have achieved remarkable success, securing world championships and competing on major platforms like ESPN. Notably, in March 2025, WeDifferent's 10U team competed in the Youth Flag Football World Championships at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

The PIAA's decision to officially recognize girls' flag football marks a significant milestone for the sport in Pennsylvania. With over 100 high schools across the state planning to field teams, the inaugural season is poised to kick off in the 2025-26 academic year.

As Parkland’s newly appointed coach, Millan is set to channel his extensive experience into building a formidable program. His vision encompasses not only athletic excellence but also fostering a culture of empowerment and inclusivity.

With a passionate group of young athletes eager to make their mark, Parkland's girls’ flag football team aims to set a benchmark for high school programs statewide.
