Dallas Township — Wyoming Area kept its early-season momentum rolling Friday night, erasing a two-score deficit to defeat Dallas 27–20 in a rivalry matchup that delivered every bit of drama you’d expect.

Dallas struck first behind sophomore Hunter Pitcavage, who found the end zone from 17 yards out. Moments later, the Mountaineers struck again when Logan Geskey turned a short catch into a dazzling 62-yard touchdown. After Pitcavage’s second touchdown in the third quarter, Dallas held a commanding 20–7 advantage.

But Wyoming Area didn’t blink. Junior quarterback Jack Gravine calmly led the Warriors back, spreading the ball to multiple playmakers. His 46-yard strike to Luke Kopetchny put the Warriors on the board early, then he connected again with Kopetchny for a 30-yard score to spark the comeback. Gravine later hit his older brother Ben Gravine on a five-yard touchdown in the fourth to put Wyoming Area ahead for good.

On the ground, the Warriors leaned on Trustin Johnson (87 yards on 17 carries) to keep the chains moving, while senior Nick Ciampi delivered the knockout blow with a 40-yard touchdown burst that tied the game before the Gravine-to-Gravine connection sealed it.

In the end, Wyoming Area outgained Dallas 394–280, controlling the line of scrimmage and winning the turnover battle. The Warriors’ defense, led by contributions from Kopetchny in the secondary and steady pressure up front, shut the door in the fourth quarter to preserve the victory.

For Dallas, quarterback Talan Geskey showed flashes, throwing for 152 yards and a touchdown. Pitcavage’s two scores and Geskey’s long catch gave the Mountaineers their chances, but the second half belonged to the Warriors.

Wyoming Area now moves to 2–0 on the season, while Dallas is still searching for its first win at 0–2. The Warriors play Western Wayne next, while the Mountaineers look to regroup against Abington.
