DICKSON CITY — Wallenpaupack came out swinging and didn’t let up, using a barrage of hits and steady pitching to take down Mid Valley 14-1 in 11U All-Star play Wednesday evening at Crystal Park.
Jeffrey W sparked the opening frame with a clutch two-run single as Wallenpaupack set the tone early. The offense piled on from there, putting up four more runs in the second behind RBI knocks from Parker S, Ben V, and Jeffrey W once again.
The third inning saw Wallenpaupack pad the lead with smart situational baseball—capitalizing on a walk, a sac fly from Gabriel R, and run-scoring plays from Elijah K and others to keep the scoreboard moving.
Jake S handled the mound with poise, spinning three solid innings and allowing just one run on five hits while striking out four. He got plenty of help from his lineup, which piled up 14 hits overall. Jeffrey W led the charge at the plate with a perfect 3-for-3 outing and 2 RBIs. Patrick T, Parker S, and Gaige D also notched multiple hits, while Aden W created havoc on the bases with a pair of steals.
Mid Valley showed resilience throughout, led by Nash S, who went 2-for-2 and knocked in the team’s lone run. Colin H and Cooper H each added two hits of their own, keeping pressure on the defense. Dean R started on the hill and fought through a tough Wallenpaupack lineup.
While Wallenpaupack advances with some nice momentum from this W, both teams showcased talent and energy that made for a high-action night of 11U baseball under the lights in Dickson City.
