Dickson City — Tensions ran high and bats ran hot on Sunday afternoon in a thrilling District 32 12U matchup between Wallenpaupack and North/East Scranton. What looked like a comfortable lead for Wallenpaupack quickly turned dramatic as North/East mounted a fierce rally in the final frame—only to fall just short, 8-7.

After trailing 4-1 early, Wallenpaupack flipped the script with a five-run sixth inning to grab control, then held off a determined late push from North/East in front of a loud crowd at Crystal Park.

Wallenpaupack’s Winning Ingredients

Victor B came up clutch at the plate and on the mound—his seventh-pitch, two-RBI double capped Wallenpaupack’s sixth-inning explosion. He also tossed 3.1 innings in relief, striking out five to secure the win.

Patrick D started the scoring with a first-inning RBI single and played clean defense with six fielding chances.

Wallenpaupack’s lineup was deep and productive, racking up 15 hits, including two each from Derek P, Carmine F, Zach M, Patrick D, Odin K, and Dominic R.

The team put serious pressure on the bases, tallying 19 stolen bases, with Xavery S, Zach M, Odin K, and Noah R leading the charge.

North/East Scranton’s Rally Falls Just Short

Chase R delivered big-time with a 2-for-2 performance, driving in two runs and swiping multiple bags to help spark the sixth-inning comeback.

Owen W laced a key double in the second and finished with two hits, while S added an RBI and struck out three in a strong outing on the mound.

North/East was active on the basepaths, totaling 13 stolen bases. Connor S, Chase R, and Matthew D all recorded multiple steals.

The defense kept them in it—zero errors and strong play behind McDermott, who had a game-high eight chances in the field.

Final Word

It was a classic District 32 battle in Dickson City—power at the plate, speed on the bases, and plenty of late-inning drama. Wallenpaupack showed grit in crunch time, while North/East Scranton proved they’re a team that won’t go down without a fight. Expect more fireworks as the tournament rolls on.
