DUNMORE – In a dramatic finish under the Friday night lights, Dunmore came alive in the bottom of the seventh to rally past Lakeland 4-3 in a thrilling Lackawanna League softball showdown.
Trailing 3-0 heading into their final at-bat, the Bucks erupted for four runs in the bottom of the seventh to steal the win. Jackie Brown delivered a clutch RBI single to spark the rally, while Paige Ancherani and Bella Pasko each drove in key runs to keep the comeback alive. Kylie Farr added another RBI to cap off the surge.
Ancherani not only delivered at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI, but also shut the door on the mound. After Rachel Walsh allowed three earned runs over four innings, Ancherani entered in relief and tossed three scoreless frames, scattering just two hits while striking out two.
Despite a strong outing from Olivia Lach—who pitched six innings with six strikeouts—Lakeland couldn’t hold off the late push. Kamri Naniewicz’s 3-run double in the third inning had given the Chiefs an early lead, but it wouldn’t be enough.
With the win, Dunmore improves to 6-3 on the season, continuing their strong play in league action.
