Vincent’s Five-TD Day Powers Crusaders Past CMVT, 54–22

DUNMORE — The Holy Cross Crusaders leaned on a monster performance from senior running back Kevin Vincent to roll past Columbia Montour Vo-Tech, 54–22, on Saturday in Week 5 action. The win marked the Crusaders’ second victory of the season, bringing renewed momentum heading into their Week 6 clash with Holy Redeemer.


Vincent Steals the Show

Vincent was nearly unstoppable every time he touched the ball. He carried just 11 times for 219 yards and five rushing touchdowns, including runs of 71, 42, and 14 yards that electrified the home crowd. He also added an 18-yard reception, showcasing his versatility as the engine of the Crusaders’ attack.


Balanced Attack

  • Holy Cross piled up 432 rushing yards as a team behind Vincent’s big day.
  • Chris Transue added 98 yards on 11 carries with a 52-yard touchdown run.
  • Dean Mushow chipped in with a 62-yard score on his only carry.
  • Through the air, Luca Berardi hauled in a 62-yard touchdown pass from Chase Rutkoski, while Jonathan Mills caught 4 passes for 70 yards.
  • Defensively, the Crusaders held CMVT to negative rushing yards (-13), forcing them to rely on their passing game.


CMVT Standouts

Columbia Montour Vo-Tech found success through the air, with Myles Koser throwing for 150 yards and a touchdown. Blake Sponenberg was his top target, catching 4 passes for 137 yards and two scores, including a highlight 65-yard strike in the fourth quarter.


Scoring Summary

First Quarter:

Vincent opened the scoring with a 1-yard run.

Second Quarter:

Vincent added a 4-yard TD, Berardi caught a 62-yard pass from Rutkoski, and CMVT answered with a 7-yard Koser-to-Koser connection.

Third Quarter:

Vincent ripped off a 71-yard run, CMVT struck back with a 34-yard TD pass, and Vincent responded again with a 14-yard score.

Fourth Quarter:

Vincent broke loose for a 42-yard TD, Transue added his 52-yarder, Mushow followed with a 62-yard sprint, while CMVT tallied late with a 65-yard Sponenberg reception.


Holy Cross (2–3) will host Holy Redeemer in Week 6, looking to keep momentum rolling.
