ARCHBALD, PA — The Valley View Cougars maintained their perfect record Friday night with a convincing 47-29 victory over North Pocono in a Division I showdown. With balanced scoring and lockdown defense, the Cougars improved to 10-0 on the season and 2-0 in division play, cementing their reputation as the team to beat.
Sophomore standout Cora Castellani led the charge for Valley View, pouring in 17 points, including a clutch three-pointer, while going 2-of-3 from the free-throw line. Senior Giada Costa chipped in 9 points, and junior Ava Gazoo contributed 12, showcasing the Cougars’ depth and versatility.
The Cougars set the tone early, holding North Pocono to just 4 points in the first quarter and building a 10-4 lead. By halftime, Valley View extended their advantage to 23-11, fueled by strong defensive play and efficient shooting.
