The Valley View Cougars put on a show Tuesday night, delivering a commanding 68-36 victory over Delaware Valley in a Division I matchup. The win improved Valley View’s record to 12-1 overall and 4-1 in league play, further solidifying their place as one of the top teams in the area.
From the opening quarter, the Cougars controlled the game. They opened with an 18-5 lead in the first and kept their foot on the gas, outscoring Delaware Valley 22-10 in the second to take a 40-15 advantage into halftime. Valley View’s balanced attack and smothering defense proved too much for their opponent.
Leading the Charge
Senior Giada Costa led all scorers with 16 points, scoring 11 in the first half alone. Sophomore Cora Castellani added 15 points, including two three-pointers, and senior Daniella Ashby chipped in 10 points, providing key contributions in the paint and from the free-throw line.
Contributions Across the Board
The Cougars’ depth was on full display. Mady Minelli added seven points, including a three-pointer, while Sadie Cardoni and Ava Gazoo scored six and five points, respectively. Valley View’s efficient offense was complemented by a defense that limited Delaware Valley to just 26.2% shooting from the field.
Delaware Valley Highlights
For Delaware Valley, Ciara Newton led the way with 11 points, including three three-pointers. Keira Lazzarro added eight points, going a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Despite their individual efforts, the Warriors struggled to find consistent offense against Valley View’s relentless defense.

• Valley View shot 56% from the field (28-for-50) and hit four three-pointers.
• They converted 8-of-12 free throws (66.7%).
