Archbald, PA – The Valley View Cougars celebrated 50 years of wrestling excellence during an emotional and celebratory Senior Night on Wednesday, January 15th, at the Cougar Den. The evening honored the program’s storied history, dedicated athletes, and a community united by its love for the sport.

In addition to celebrating the milestone, the event recognized individuals who have played pivotal roles in the program’s success. Alumni Chris Reece and Chris Petigrew were honored for their tireless dedication to Valley View wrestling. Their efforts as coaches and advocates have been instrumental in keeping the program alive and thriving. Their contributions, both on and off the mat, have left a lasting legacy that continues to benefit Valley View wrestlers.

The night also held deep emotional significance as the Cougars paid tribute to the late Michael “Chippi” Cawley, a former standout wrestler remembered for his skill, spirit, and character. His parents, Brett and Stacey Cawley, were presented with an award & banner recognizing Michael and their ongoing support of the wrestling program. Michael’s legacy serves as a reminder of the values that define the Cougar wrestling family.
