Wyoming Area High School | Senior

A senior at Wyoming Area High School, Ben Gravine is a standout in both football and track and field. Known not only for his athleticism, but also for his resilience, leadership, and academic excellence. Ben is the kind of athlete whose strength goes beyond the field and track.

As a junior, Ben served as a team captain for the Wyoming Area football team, a rare occurrence as this title is usually only rewarded to seniors. But, his season was cut short by adversity—a torn achilles tendon in a game against Abington Heights. While many might have let that define their year, Ben made an incredible seven-month recovery, powered by a strong support system of family, coaches, and teammates. In a few short months he was stronger, faster, and determined heading into his junior year of track season. Inspired deeply by his grandfather, who has always been a steady, supportive presence in his life, Ben channels that inspiration into every challenge he faces.

On the track, Ben became a Wyoming Valley Conference Champion in discus, and has set his sights on the state tournament for his senior season. He’s already claimed the 2024 conference title and isn’t done yet.

Ben's goals for his senior year in football are clear: serve again as captain, earn All-Conference and All-State honors, and help his team achieve its best season yet.

Academically, Ben is a National Honor Society member with a 4.0 GPA. He effortlessly balances elite performance in sports with an admirable commitment to academics.

Looking ahead, Ben plans to major in Business and is currently undecided between pursuing football or track at the collegiate level.
