A bold new era for youth sports in Northeastern Pennsylvania begins with the launch of The Valley Football Conference — a league committed to developing young athletes and bringing communities together through football and cheerleading.

Rooted in values like player development, community pride, and competitive spirit, the Valley Football Conference is set to kick off its inaugural season in 2025. This dynamic new league unites nine dedicated programs from across the region:

  • Swoyersville Sailors
  • Hanover Mini Hawks
  • Greater Wyoming Area Jr. Warriors
  • Northwest Rangers
  • Lake Lehman Jr. Knights
  • Duryea Wildcats
  • Tunkhannock Jr. Tigers
  • Wilkes-Barre Bears
  • Wyoming Valley Jr. Spartans

With an eye toward growth and mentorship, The Valley Football Conference is kicking things off with a pair of free clinics hosted at Wilkes University, one of the region’s top collegiate programs.

Coaches Clinic – June 29, 2025

The league launched with a Free Coaches Clinic led by Wilkes University staff, focused on player safety, fundamentals, and leadership techniques. It set the tone for a strong, unified start for our coaching community.

Youth Football Clinic – July 11, 2025 |6 PM – 9 PM

Now it’s the kids’ turn. The Free Youth Football Clinic on July 11th from 6 to 9 PM will bring together players from across the Valley Conference for an evening of skill-building, fun, and inspiration — all on the turf at Wilkes. This clinic is open to all registered Valley Football Conference players and is a key part of our mission to give every athlete the tools they need to succeed on and off the field.

What’s Next

The excitement doesn’t stop there. The inaugural regular season kicks off August 10th, with teams set to clash weekly throughout the fall. It all builds to a championship showdown on November 2nd, when the first-ever Valley Football Conference Super Bowl will crown our champions.

From camps to kickoff — this is just the beginning. The Valley Football Conference is ready to set the standard for youth football in NEPA.
