NANTICOKE — It was a championship night to remember for Hanover Area, and Stella Styczen made sure of it.

The right-hander threw a no-hitter and delivered two clutch extra-base hits to help Hanover roll past Greater Pittston Area 9-0 on Friday at Nanticoke Little League in the District 16 Majors Division title game.

Locked in from the first pitch, Styczen struck out nine batters and didn’t allow a single hit over six dominant innings. She backed up her own brilliance in the circle with a two-run double in the fourth and a two-run triple in the sixth, finishing with four RBIs.

Hanover's offense ignited in the fourth inning with a four-run burst. Styczen’s double got it started, followed by an RBI single from Paisley Hliwski and a steal of home to make it 4-0. The sixth inning saw more fireworks, as Jillian Weidner, Styczen, and Gabbi Pericci all came through with RBI hits to put the game out of reach.

Weidner and Styczen each finished with two hits, leading a nine-hit effort for Hanover Area. The lineup was aggressive and disciplined, racking up eight stolen bases and six walks, while the defense played error-free behind Styczen.

Kylie K. reached base on an error for Pittston Area. Andrea C. started in the circle for Pittston, striking out nine across five innings of work.

With the title win, Hanover Area moves on to the Section 5 tournament, where potential matchups with Valley View (District 32), Greater Wyoming Area (District 31), and potentially others await pending Little League scheduling.
