Bella Boyle: A Standout Athlete, Scholar, and Community Leader
Bella Boyle’s accomplishments both on and off the field make her a remarkable figure at Hazleton Area High School in Pennsylvania. Known for her incredible work ethic, sportsmanship, and leadership, Bella has excelled not only in field hockey but in a variety of other areas, from academics to community involvement. Her success is a testament to her passion, dedication, and diverse talents.
Field hockey is where Bella truly shines. Playing for Hazleton Area High School, she has broken records, earned multiple honors, and proven herself as one of the best players in her division. As a key player on the team, Bella has accumulated an impressive 110 points, with 50 goals and 10 assists in her most recent season. Her outstanding performance led her to be named to the Pennsylvania All-State Second Team and the Wyoming Valley Conference All-Star Selection for Division 1. Her hard work didn’t stop there; Bella also earned a Keystone State Games All-Star Selection and contributed to Hazleton Area’s success with a WVC AAA Silver Medal.
Bella’s skill and leadership on the field have also been recognized with the Top Scorer and Offensive MVP awards at Hazleton Area, as well as a place in the 100 Point Club—a prestigious honor that underscores her consistent and high-level performance. Breaking school records for the most points and most goals in a single season, Bella has solidified her place in Hazleton Area’s athletic history.
Bella’s excellence extends beyond her high school team to the Surge Field Hockey Club, where she has earned significant accolades in national competitions. As a member of the U16 team, Bella helped her squad secure a Tier 1 Silver Medal at the 2023 National Indoor Tournament. She also played an integral role in the U14 USA Region 5 RCC and earned a spot in the U16 Nexus Regional Selections. In addition to these individual accomplishments, Bella’s leadership and talent contributed to her teams’ success in the Surf and Sand Tournament, where both the U19 and U14 teams claimed championships.
Bella’s dedication doesn’t end with athletics. A standout scholar at Hazleton Area, she maintains an exceptional 4.0 GPA and is enrolled in the Gifted Program. Her academic achievements have earned her Highest Honors recognition, showcasing her ability to balance the demands of rigorous coursework with her athletic pursuits. Bella’s commitment to excellence in the classroom is a reflection of her strong work ethic and drive to succeed in all areas of her life.
While field hockey has been a central focus for Bella, she is also an accomplished athlete in other sports. Bella is a District qualifier for the Black Marlins Swim Club, further demonstrating her versatility as an athlete. Additionally, she has been a dedicated member of the Hazleton Area Softball Team and has shown her skills in baseball as well, having been a starter for the Valley East 11-12 All-Stars for two consecutive years. As the only girl on the team, Bella learned valuable lessons in resilience, toughness, and mental fortitude, all of which have contributed to her success on the field and in life.
Outside of her athletic and academic endeavors, Bella is deeply involved in her community. She volunteers her time as a coach for the Hazleton Elementary Field Hockey Clinic, sharing her knowledge and passion for the sport with the next generation of players. Bella’s dedication to her community is also reflected in her role as an altar server at Good Shepherd Parish and her musical talents—she has been playing the piano for nine years and regularly sings the National Anthem at her home field hockey games.
With her remarkable combination of athleticism, academics, and community involvement, Bella Boyle is a true leader and role model. Whether she’s breaking records on the field, excelling in the classroom, or giving back to her community, Bella’s dedication and passion make her one of Hazleton Area High School’s most outstanding students. As she continues to achieve great things, there’s no doubt that Bella’s future is filled with even more success and accomplishments.
