At Sportzwire, we stand by our athletes—on and off the field. Today, we ask our community to step up for one of our own: Eddie Kaufman, a 20-year-old Mid Valley alum and standout Roanoke College baseball player who is bravely battling T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Eddie needs a life-saving stem cell transplant, and time is of the essence. But before that can happen, he needs a perfect match—and it could be you.
Join Team Eddie K this Thursday, April 10, from 5–8 PM at the Throop Civic Center for a simple cheek swab event. It’s quick, painless, and could quite literally save a life. If you’re a match, donating is as easy as giving blood or plasma. No surgery. No cost. All expenses—including travel, food, missed work, and even child or pet care—are covered.
