With championship stakes in the air, Mid Valley brought the hammer.
Behind a no-hit gem from Nick Mills and a relentless offensive barrage, the Spartans crushed Holy Cross 11-0 in five innings Monday to lock up the Lackawanna League title. It was a statement win, loud and clear.
Mills did it all—firing five no-hit innings with six strikeouts while also driving in four runs at the plate. The senior punched the gas early, inducing weak contact all night, and never let up as Mid Valley kept their foot on the gas.
Joey Romanosky set the tone in the top of the first with a triple that rattled down the right field line, and from there, the Spartans poured it on. They erupted for six runs in the fourth behind RBI swings from Mills, Carter Musewicz, Jeremy Cali, and Brett Yanoski.
Holy Cross struggled to slow the wave. Mid Valley drew nine walks in total, showcasing discipline and patience to complement their muscle.
Now crowned league champs, the Spartans shift their focus toward the postseason—with momentum, depth, and swagger in full supply.
