MECHANICSBURG — If there was ever a night destined for the history books in Southern Lehigh, this was it. The Spartans took the field under the bright lights at Chapman Field and took over, defeating Twin Valley 43–21 to capture the first PIAA 4A State Championship in school history.
Senior superstar Sean Steckert was unstoppable, a 301-yard, four-touchdown clinic that set a new Class 4A title-game rushing record. He gashed the Raiders from every angle from 11 yards, 27 yards, 6 yards, 2 yards, each score louder than the last.
But the Spartans weren’t one-dimensional.
Quarterback Colton Sams showcased the balance that made Southern Lehigh a problem all season completing 13 of 18 passes for 145 yards and firing two touchdown passes to wideout Otto Young. The 40-yard strike? Pure precision. The 30-yard one? A championship dagger.
And while the offense rolled, the defense hustled its way into the spotlight, three interceptions, led by two from ballhawk Adam Fritts, shut down Twin Valley’s momentum every time they tried to spark a rally.
From the trenches to the secondary, from record-breaking runs to perfectly placed passes, everything clicked. Everything screamed championship.
On the biggest stage Pennsylvania high school football offers…
Southern Lehigh owned the moment.
A golden trophy.
A golden night.
A legacy that starts right here.
