South Scranton Rallies Past Abington in 11U All-Star Battle

MOSCOW, PA — In a tightly contested 11U Little League All-Star matchup Thursday evening at 379 O’Hara Road, South Scranton All-Stars used late-game discipline at the plate to rally past Abington, earning a 7–2 victory despite being outhit 5–2.
Abington jumped ahead early, thanks to the hot bat of Bradey B., who delivered a two-RBI performance from the eight spot in the lineup. His single in the bottom of the second gave Abington the first run of the night and early momentum. He finished the game 2-for-2, leading all hitters.
On the mound, Evan R. was stellar for Abington. The right-hander struck out 10 over four innings while allowing just one hit and one run, walking only one.
But South Scranton stayed patient.
In the top of the fifth, their offense came alive—not with hits, but with plate discipline. Three straight walks drawn by Peanut W., Eden V., and Mikey B. each forced in runs, flipping the score and shifting the momentum. South Scranton tallied a total of eight walks in the contest, making the most of every opportunity.
Darian N. got the start for South Scranton, allowing three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out four. His outing set the tone, and the bullpen held strong through the middle innings.
Tess L. and Xavier H. each added a hit for South Scranton, while Eden V., Peanut W., Will B., and Mikey B. all collected RBIs in the comeback win. A key double play by the South Scranton defense also helped shut down a potential rally by Abington late in the game.
