It was a masterclass on the mound Tuesday afternoon as Jacob Snyder led Wyoming Area to a 2-0 victory over Lake-Lehman in a tightly contested pitchers’ duel.
Snyder was nearly untouchable, throwing 6 2/3 no-hit innings and striking out 13 batters while allowing just four walks. Alex Vacula came in for the final out, fanning one to complete the combined no-hitter.
Wyoming Area got all the offense it needed with single runs in the second and sixth innings. Cody Meade drove in the game’s only RBI with a key hit, while Ben Rogish led the way at the plate, going 2-for-2 and scoring both of the Warriors’ runs.
On the other side, Lake-Lehman’s Sam Finarelli turned in a solid outing, surrendering just one unearned run over five innings with two strikeouts and one walk. Andrew Morris pitched the sixth, giving up one run on two hits.
Lake-Lehman struggled to generate any offense, finishing the game hitless against a dominant Wyoming Area staff. With the win, the Warriors continued to prove they can compete in low-scoring, defensive battles thanks to their depth on the mound and timely hitting.
This win improves Wyoming Area’s standing after recent tough matchups, while Lake-Lehman will look to bounce back after being silenced at the plate.
