Rachel Shook reached a major career milestone on a cold and rainy Senior Day at Mangelsdorf Field, helping lead the Misericordia University women’s lacrosse team to a 6-5 win over Arcadia.

Shook tallied two goals and dominated the circle with nine draw controls, surpassing 400 for her career. Her impact was felt across the field as the Cougars never trailed after the first quarter.

Delaney Campanella added two goals and two caused turnovers, while Ashtyn Torbert contributed a goal and an assist. Adison Harner also scored in the win.

After Arcadia scored in the opening minute, Shook answered with a goal to tie it. Harner followed with a go-ahead goal late in the first quarter to give the Cougars a 2-1 edge. Campanella opened the second with a man-up goal, and back-to-back scores from Shook and Campanella in the third quarter gave MU a 6-3 cushion.

Arcadia cut the deficit to one late in the fourth, but Ryann Gross stood tall in net with eight saves and four ground balls. Jaden Pare sealed the win by collecting a key ground ball off a late Arcadia turnover.

With the victory, Misericordia improves to 5-8 overall and 3-1 in MAC Freedom play, currently riding a two-game win streak. The Cougars return to action Wednesday when they host Lebanon Valley College at Mangelsdorf Field.
