Coal Township, PA – The Shamokin Indians left no doubt in their first-round 4A state tournament game, steamrolling Wyoming Area 90-60 behind a balanced offensive attack and a suffocating defense.
From the opening tip, Shamokin set the tone, jumping out to a commanding 26-9 lead in the first quarter. They followed that up with a dominant second quarter, pouring in 24 points to head into halftime with a 50-25 advantage. Wyoming Area struggled to match Shamokin’s energy and scoring efficiency, managing just 12 points in the third quarter as the deficit grew even larger.
Shamokin’s Balanced Scoring Attack
Shamokin’s offensive explosion was powered by Joe Hile, who led the way with 19 points, knocking down a pair of free throws and a three-pointer.
