The Bell will stay with Knights for one more year. Scranton extended its dominance in the storied rivalry with West Scranton, rolling to a 51-6 victory Friday night for its seventh consecutive Bell Game win.
The Knights set the tone early and never looked back. Quarterback Brody Coyle powered the offense with 134 passing yards and a touchdown strike to Ben Campbell, while also adding 45 yards and two rushing scores. Scranton’s balanced ground attack overwhelmed the Invaders, piling up 221 rushing yards behind contributions from Kamani Sterling (40 yards, 1 TD), Keith Johnson (32 yards, 1 TD), Jonathan Mrozik (4-yard TD), and Ian McAndrew, who broke loose for a 49-yard fourth-quarter score.
The defense also had its say, highlighted by a safety from Daris McCollum and an interception by Mrozik, keeping West Scranton out of rhythm all night.
West’s lone bright spot came in the third quarter when quarterback Jake DeLuca connected with Jonyae Sostre for a 13-yard touchdown, finishing with 65 passing yards. Cayden Farr added 48 receiving yards for the Invaders, but it wasn’t nearly enough to slow the Knights’ momentum.
With the win, Scranton (now 2-2) keeps the Bell secured for another year, reinforcing their recent stranglehold on one of the region’s most tradition-rich rivalries. West Scranton will regroup as it seeks to snap the drought in future meetings.
