The gym at St. Clare/St. Paul was a sea of pink last night, filled with love, support, and inspiration as the Lady Crusaders honored their beloved 6th-7th-8th grade social studies teacher, Mrs. Holly Tomko. Diagnosed with breast cancer last year, Mrs. Tomko has been a pillar of strength and resilience for the school community. The event celebrated her final chemotherapy treatment, a milestone marked by the emotional ringing of the bell via FaceTime in front of her cheering students and supporters.
The Lady Crusaders have dedicated their basketball season to Mrs. Tomko, donning pink shooting shirts throughout the season in her honor. The touching tribute united the school and community, as everyone rallied behind their cherished teacher.
The evening featured two games against Howard Gardner, where the Lady Crusaders showcased their dominance on the court.
JV Game
The JV squad set the tone with a commanding 39-12 victory. Gwen Kearney led the team with 7 points, while Katie Doherty added 5 points in a solid team effort.
Varsity Game
In the varsity matchup, SCSP continued their winning momentum with a 56-36 triumph. Maddie Flynn delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 14 points to lead the team. Katie Doherty made an impact off the bench with 13 points, and Kelly Heffron added 11 points to round out a balanced attack.
