SCRANTON, PA — Scranton Prep showcased their offensive firepower and defensive prowess on Friday night, rolling to a decisive 69-36 victory over Scranton in girls’ basketball action. With standout performances from multiple players, Prep controlled the game from start to finish, extending their impressive season run.


Bella Dennebaum led the way with 16 points, including seven field goals and a perfect 2-for-2 from the free-throw line. Jenna Hillebrand added 17 points, including eight field goals, while Chloe Mamera contributed 14 points and went 4-for-5 at the line. Ashlyn Moore rounded out the attack with eight points, including a three-pointer.


The game began with Scranton Prep setting the tone early, outscoring Scranton 19-9 in the first quarter. By halftime, Prep had just a 31-26 lead, as Scranton elevated their play on defense; forcing turnovers and getting some easy buckets in transition. The third quarter proved decisive as Prep erupted for 26 points while holding Scranton to just 5.


Scranton struggled to find a rhythm offensively, with Eyinah Smith & Maggie O'shea leading the Knights with 10 points a piece. Chrissy Jacklinski added seven points, while Catherine Hill chipped in eight. Despite their efforts, Scranton couldn’t overcome Prep’s relentless defense, which held them to just 11 field goals in the game.


Scranton Prep’s efficiency on offense was evident, with 29 field goals and 7 of 12 free throws made. Their balanced scoring and dominance in transition kept Scranton on the back foot throughout the game.
