Scranton Prep Controls Consolation Game at Lynett Memorial Tournament

In the 23rd Annual Lynett Memorial Tournament consolation game, Scranton Prep put together a complete performance to defeat Holy Cross, 53 to 22, on Sunday afternoon at the Lackawanna College Student Union  

The Classics set the tempo early with an 18 to 7 first quarter and maintained control throughout, holding Holy Cross to just five made field goals for the game. Scranton Prep finished shooting 22 of 52 from the field while forcing turnovers that led to consistent scoring chances.

Chloe Mamera led all scorers with 19 points and added four rebounds. Eva Kazuba followed with seven points and a team high five rebounds. Ava Fenton chipped in six points, four rebounds, and four assists, while Shannon Bestrycki scored six points and knocked down two three pointers. Carly Krzywicc also finished with six points, and McKenna Toolan connected from beyond the arc.

Holy Cross was led by Aniya Osgood with eight points and four rebounds, going a perfect six for six from the free throw line. Mollie Urban added seven points, three rebounds, and a three pointer, while Ava Schmidt contributed seven points and five rebounds.

Scranton Prep outscored Holy Cross 19 to 5 in points off turnovers and closed the game with a 17 point fourth quarter, securing the consolation game victory and finishing the tournament on a strong note
