Stroudsburg, PA – The Parkland Trojans punched their ticket to the PIAA 6A State Quarterfinals with a dramatic 52-50 victory over the Scranton Knights in Round 2 of the state tournament at Stroudsburg Area High School.
The game was tied at 50 when Parkland’s Blake Nassry delivered in the clutch, driving to the rim and finishing an acrobatic layup at the buzzer to send the Trojans to the Elite 8, where they will now face District 12’s top seed, Imhotep Charter.
Scoring Leaders & Team Highlights
Nassry led Parkland with a game-high 13 points, fueled by a strong showing at the free-throw line (5-for-6). Jude Ruisch was lights out from beyond the arc, drilling four three-pointers to finish with 12 points. Nassim Adams added 10 points, including two clutch three-pointers.
For Scranton, Jaheem Roberts paced the Knights with 10 points, followed closely by Jayden Burrell (9 points) and Pedro Lugo (9 points), who connected on a key three-pointer to keep Scranton in the game late. Johnathon Levine contributed 8 points, hitting 5-of-6 free throws.
Three-Point Shooting & Team Comparisons
Parkland made the difference from beyond the arc, knocking down seven three-pointers compared to Scranton’s four. The Trojans also made the most of their opportunities at the line, going 6-for-10 on free throws, while Scranton struggled with consistency, converting 14-of-19 attempts.
Scranton outscored Parkland 16-11 in the fourth quarter, erasing an early deficit, but Nassry’s buzzer-beating drive sealed the Trojans' spot in the next round.
